“A slave to a man you love.”

In Uncategorized on September 29, 2010 at 11:35 am

Eddie Long you’re FINISHED!   And to Jamal Parris, in the words of the late Walter Hawkins popular gospel song, “Don’t wait ’till the battle is over to shout now,
You know in the end, you’re gonna WIN.”

We should expect a settlement very soon!  Jamal Parris riveting testimony tonight is enough that any judge and or jury would find  Eddie Long GUILTY.  As Jamal spoke, every fatherless black male could relate. As Jamal spoke, every black female raising a son without a male presence could relate. And as Jamal spoke, the black community at large could relate.  Jamal spoke from a deep place that has been torn into pieces: his heart.  This was no prepared script.  Jamal was REAL.  His story … I need a minute to regroup.  I cannot finish this at this moment cause I feel emotions overcoming me.  When Jamal stated the reasons he couldn’t stop and tell Eddie enough is enough, instantly I thought of the words from Donnie Hathaways song:, Giving Up.

Giving up is hard to do
When you really love someone
Giving up …. so hard to do
When you still depend upon
Her warm and tender touch
Her kiss and her hug……….her caress
Oooooh that used to mean so much
And bring you happiness
Woooo ooooooooh

Giving up, so hard to do
I’ve tried
But it just ain’t no use
Giving up, so hard to do
I said I’ve tried
But it just ain’t no use
But my light of hope is burning dim
But in my heart I pray
That my love and faith in the girl
My love…will bring her back someday

I’m talking ’bout when you really love someone

Blacks and Hispanic Flunk U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey

In Uncategorized on September 29, 2010 at 2:25 am

Big Kudos Friendly Atheist for keeping me informed.

This comes as no surprise that the most religious group in America, the Negro, received a grade of “F” on religious knowledge.  This speaks volumes of our ability to become blindly proselytized without true understanding of that which we totally commit our life and submit our earning.  However, I was ecstatic to know that we non theist/questioning received the highest score: A+

“This may seem paradoxical, since atheists and agnostics have very low levels of religious commitment and yet score very well on the survey questions. However, atheists and agnostics account for a relatively small share of the total number of people with low levels of religious commitment; 4% of Americans describe themselves as atheists or agnostics, while fully 35% have low religious commitment. Atheists and agnostics answer an average of 20.9 questions correctly, compared with an average of 15.4 correct answers among people with low religious commitment who do not describe themselves as atheists or agnostics.”

These are among the key findings of the U.S. Religious Knowledge Survey, a nationwide poll conducted from May 19 through June 6, 2010, among 3,412 Americans age 18 and older, on landlines and cell phones, in English and Spanish. Jews, Mormons and atheists/agnostics were oversampled to allow analysis of these relatively small groups.

Pastor Long’s Sex Tape and Not All Pastor’s Seduce nor Coerce

In Uncategorized on September 27, 2010 at 1:07 pm

I can hear the back and forward motion of church fans across the country,  steadily increasing as the temperature rises, upon anticipation of the latest hot News: a sex tape on a cell phone of pastor Long and a NEW Long Fellow mentee to hit the streets this week.   Long error is his hypocrisy and abuse of power only – not his homosexual desires.

Long’s is VERY different than most black pastors with same sex attraction(SSS) who stand behind the pulpit.  Long’s  over-the-top largess and powerful influences differentiates him far apart from the norm.  All of which feed a self-focus, an egotism, a narcissism that leads him to believe that, that he can do whatever he want. He’s invincible. And there will be no consequences.

Long’s scandal certainly has a few of my former pastor friends and past clergy lovers digging deeper into the DL closet.

Following CNN host Don Lemmons, who revealed a past secret, I feel the need to speak out on behalf of many same gender loving black pastors, on the down low, who do not abuse their position and are real men of integrity.    I’ve said it before, I know too many pulpit pastors with same sex secrets(SSS).   And yes, I’ve dated a few pastors, slept with a few and been in a long-term monogamous relationship too.

At the age of 19, I was that sang’n choir boy who traveled with the senior pastor  as a musical compliment, part-time assistant, and mentee.   Pastor didn’t coerce nor seduce me; he saw something within me that  I couldn’t see:  an unaware , gay, young man.   However, I was coerced and seduced repeatedly, but not by pastor or any male — it was the females who were doing the seducing and coercing. I was new, attractive, young, working,  attending college,  and a good singer.

I’ll never forget when I brought my girlfriend to church.  Actually, pastor encouraged me to bring her often.  But soon I succumbed to the manipulative women of the church; I repeatedly cheated on my girlfriend with other women( much older women) from my church and surrounding churches.

My senior pastor was a renaissance man: degreed,  well read, intelligent, and extremely funny.  I guarnered regional prestige and status when traveling with pastor; he was a well known man of God in the surrounding area and  known for bringing a dead church alive with his dynamic personality and skill, to include,  ALWAYS accompanied by a slamming vocal arrangement from a quartet to full choir.  Certainly, Pastor was envied.  It was later  I discovered that pastor would show me off ( sport me as his shelf piece/toy boy) to his SSS counterparts from neighboring church and around the state.  Yes, the choir boy role was flattering with such attention; however, at retreats and conferences, some of the advances by participants were a bit strong and obvious, although harmless; nevertheless, by then, I knew that homosexual men ruled the gospel music scene.

I eventually dumped my girlfriend and continued my sexual exploration with much older women from the churches.  As I look back, I kept fu*#ing to subconsciously prove my heterosexuality.   But then she came along.  She was tall, fine, chocolate, and very feminine.  We dated and quickly became an item.  Never shall I  forget her; she was the last women I dated and the last female I had sex with.  When having sex with her I began to fantasize about sex with men while hitting it from the back.   I knew then, No more!  My church sexcapades with church ladies were over. And once again, I dumped a beautiful girlfriend for a sabbatical  to discover my true sexuality.

And pastor was still there awaiting my sexual awareness arrival.  I admired pastor because he had not tried to coarse me into a sexual orientation that I wasn’t ready to admit existed within me.  Then, nearly 22 years old, I went to my first gay club. And in that setting, absolutely, without doubt, I knew my sexual orientation.  I told a female friend, while inside this club, that I’m gay.  She was happy for me .  And I was happy too.  Soon my gaydar skills became sharpened and I saw my church world in a whole new light.  I had a safe place to come out to myself and an entrance into a network of a special secret order of same gender loving clergy and others.

The anti-gay message causes more harm by pushing gay, lesbian, bi and questioning congregants and officials deeper undercover (DL). They, hide behind the pulpit, first lady, and the word -not hoping God make them new again, but PRAYING not to get caught.

Saints, I know what I’m talking about!!! This ain’t speculation, or pontification – it’s conclusive, creditable, and confirmed.

Too often I think of Donnie McClurklin, Rev. DL Foster and others who are professed ex-gays; they are fooling no one! Black church folks know God doesn’t  change sexual orientation. I know first hand the struggles they endure and the life-long torment. Such is a cross I’d never care to bare.  However, realistically, it’s too late to turn back for many pastors, due to so much at stake to lose.

I told a gay COGIC  pastor, and partner, to simply give it up – if he’s so unhappy. He said, “I can’t – that’s all I know.” I eventually relinquished the relationship because he knew all about church but very little about himself. Today, he remains behind the pulpit – tormented.

Today, I’m a secular humanist because I simply do not believe the lies; I stopped drinking the kool aid.   I continue to love  gospel music but I extract its positive philosophical message and discard the biblical content.

Unequivocally, Eddie Long is guilty.  Unlike my former senior pastor and many others, Long utilized his power and mentorship to feed a self-focus, an egotism, a narcissism that leads him to believe that, that he can do whatever he want. He’s invincible. And there will be no consequences.

I’m writing because not all pastor with SSS are manipulative;  most are wise men watching over us younger journeymen.  They remember their own road toward enlightenment and wish to help somebody as they pass along.

In a nation that was Not founded upon religion nor founded by religionist, but certainly full of religious nuts, Now it is our time to restore sanity to the masses.  I will meet you at the Mall on the day before All Hallows- Eve: Oct 30, 2010.

Enough is enough!  Enough psychologically destructive proselytizing  from the book of scribbles ( da Bible).  The good book, jammed packed with images of White divinity,  has been nothing but unconsciously controlling.   Dr. Francis Welsing tells us that absolutley critical to the white supremacy system of religious throught was the formation of the image of white man as the son of God.  Because the brain-computer funcitons most fundamentally on logic circuits at deep unconscious levels, it automatically computes that God the fatehr is also a white male.  If God is other than white, he would have produced a black (or other non-white) son.

Any person programmed to accept religion, whether conscious of it or not, has the image and concept of God as a white man in the logic network of his/her brain, and with this unconscious logic circit of God is a white man firmly in place.

Generally, what people believe determines their attitudes.  Our actions are grounded in our attitudes and our attitudes are grounded on our beliefs.  These so called vessels of God ( pastors) are responsible for the alarming growth of wide spread ignorance.

Yes, we are living in the last days!  The last days of total ignorance.  The masses of freethinkers continue to grow.  However, it isn’t too hard to begin questioning the blatant fallacious biblical tales.   Example.  If you think Noah collected two of each species and loaded them on a cruise liner, then you certainly believe the world trade buildings, including building #7, collapsed due to fire. I’m surprised the Pentagon didn’t collapse!

Moving forward.  Let us restor sanity to America by telling ourselves the truth.  Santa Claus and the flying raindeer games are all false.   Ghost do not exist.  Fairies and the Tooth Fairies are false too.  Sorry, but the virginal conception of Jesus by Mary is a lie also.

THE AGE OF LIES.  It’s not secret we are rotten to the core with hypocrisy. They talk about heaven while on their way to hell.   A preacher may preach about David stealing Uriah’s wife, be he’d better not breath a word about Deacon Johnson who stole Deacon’s Jones wife.  Many preachers will vehemently toss around anti-gay rhetoric, but will never speak about the boys he has manipulated and molested, or his same sex attractions.   But continue to open your wallets and give, give and give.  Show pastor the money! Amen?

Join me and a million more to restore Sanity to America!

Eddie Long: “I’m a Gay American?”

In Uncategorized on September 23, 2010 at 2:46 am

I’m awaiting Eddie Long to admit the same words Jim McGreevey stated  in 2004: “I’m a gay American.”   Or, will he follow Tom Brock who made a whole bunch of waves by suggesting that a twister was God’s retribution for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America voting  to allows for openly gay clergy to serve as ministers.  Well… it turns out Tom Brock was outed soon after; yet, he will remain in the pulpit.  Brooks admits to same sex attractions. Also, he has the opportunity to follow Ted Haggard and lie, and keep lying, until proven guilty.

Truthfully, Eddie has so many examples from numerous outed pastors and elected officials.

Dennis Pragger said, “Because the moment McGreevey announced he was gay, people assumed he did what he did because a homophobic society forced him, a homosexual, to live a fraudulent heterosexual life.

Who then could blame him? If society forced you, dear heterosexual male reader, to live with a man all your life and deny yourself the physical love of a woman, wouldn’t you, too, eventually crack under the pressure and make love to a woman?

That is how at least half the country thinks about McGreevey now: “Well, he was wrong, and sure, he shouldn’t have given that man a six-figure-a-year job advising the governor of New Jersey on the life-and-death issue of security, but let’s be decent here. The guy’s gay, and he’s been living with a woman all his adult life.”

Nevertheless,  one more hypocrite exposed.  THE END!

Get Up Off Your Knees. Go Home. Organize.

In Uncategorized on September 21, 2010 at 11:37 am

“James Baldwin, arguably America’s greatest black writer, was a popular Pentecostal preacher in Harlem at age 14 – but at 17 he renounced religion as a sham.”

“James Baldwin recounted his growing cynicism about spreading “the gospel.” Lamenting the grip of religion on poor blacks, Baldwin said, “When I faced a congregation, it began to take all the strength I had not to…tell them to throw away their Bibles and get off their knees and go home and organize.”

In Baldwin’s view, organized religion’s requirement that believers suspend disbelief and submit to “God’s will” is a liability for working class African Americans. Religious dogma anesthetizes as it bonds, a dangerous combination in an era in which the proliferation of storefront churches in urban black communities is a symptom of economic underdevelopment.

“Baldwin wrote that he might have remained in the church if “there was any loving-kindness to be found in the haven I represented.” But he finally concluded that “there was no love in the church. It was a mask for hatred and self-hatred and despair.” So his religion ended.

Years later, he visited Black Muslim leader Elijah Muhammad and concluded that Elijah’s “revelations” about Satan creating “white devils” were just as irrational as Christian beliefs.”

Ms. Butterfly McQueen

In Uncategorized on September 11, 2010 at 3:33 pm

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thelma “Butterfly” McQueen (January 8, 1911 – December 22, 1995) was an American actress. Originally a dancer, McQueen appeared as Prissy, Scarlett O’Hara’s maid in the 1939 film Gone with the Wind.

Early life
Born Thelma McQueen in Tampa, Florida, she had planned to become a nurse until a high school teacher suggested that she try acting. McQueen initially studied with Janet Collins and went on to dance with the Venezuela Jones Negro Youth Group. Around this time she acquired the nickname “Butterfly”—a tribute to her constantly moving hands—for her performance of the Butterfly Ballet in a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (she had always hated her birth name, and later legally changed her name to Butterfly McQueen). She performed with the dance troupe of Katherine Dunham before making her professional debut in George Abbott’s Brown Sugar.

McQueen’s first role would become her most identifiable —as Prissy, the young maid in Gone with the Wind, uttering the famous words: “I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ babies!” She also played an uncredited bit part as a sales assistant in The Women, filmed after Gone with the Wind but released before it. She also played Butterfly, Mary Livingstone’s maid in the Jack Benny radio program, for a time during World War II. She appeared in an uncredited role in Mildred Pierce (1945) and played a supporting role in Duel in the Sun (1946). By 1947 she had grown tired of the ethnic stereotypes she was required to play and ended her film career.

Legacy and Death
McQueen never married or had children. She lived in New York in the summer months, and in Augusta, Georgia during the winter. She died December 22, 1995 at the Augusta Regional Medical Center in Augusta, as a result of burns received when a kerosene heater she was attempting to light malfunctioned and burst into flames. A lifelong atheist, she donated her body to medical science and remembered the Freedom From Religion Foundation in her will.

Pastor Terry Jones: No Homo

In Uncategorized on September 10, 2010 at 12:12 pm

As of yesterday, the infamous, self-acclaimed pastor, 58-year-old who packs a .40-caliber pistol on his hip, who oversees the 50 member Dove World Outreach Center, Terry Jones from Gainesville, Fla.put it this way: “If God told us to do it” — burn the Korans — “then I guess he could tell us to do something different.”

Here’s the way I see it: putting American lives at risk abroad justify his azz being taken down by whatever means necessary. The End!

More tidbits about the infamous Terry Jones:
During a mayoral run-off in Gainesville last April, Terry Jones and the Dove World Outreach Center posted a sign on the property reading, “No homo mayor,” and Jones denounced the candidate, Craig Lowe, in a video. “We’ve got us a homo mayor, with of course a homo agenda.” (the alledged homo Mr. Lowe won anyway.)

When asked about his knowledge of the Koran, Pastor Jones told The New York Times: “I have no experience with it whatsoever. I only know what the Bible says.”

Jones, reportedly has an honorary degree from the unaccredited California Graduate School of Theology

During a recent sermon Jones also voiced disgust at the spiritual bona fides of the United Methodist Church a few blocks away streets away that is planning an an interfaith prayer service on Sept. 10. “Lily-livered, yellow-bellied Christians,” he called the congregants at the neighboring church, and he said the rest of the country wasn’t much better. “Our nation is in ruin spiritually.”

Jones’ daughter, Emma Jones, who still lives in Germany, was one of those accusing her father and stepmother of wrongdoing. Emma Jones had broken with the church, calling it a “cult” that “forced us with oppression to be obedient.”

“They used mental violence. They’d say, ‘If you’re not obedient, God will punish you,’ ” Emma Jones told The Gainesville Sun.
Other former church members in Florida and Germany also described Jones’ style as abusive and cult-like.

Isn’t Islam and Christianity PEACEFUL religions?

DADT Smacked Down

In Uncategorized on September 10, 2010 at 3:58 am

Obama is near to meeting yet another campaign promise: the repeal of DADT. Now we shall see.

A federal judge on Thursday, 9.9.10, declared the U.S. military’s ban on openly gay service members unconstitutional and said she will issue an order to stop the government from enforcing the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy nationwide. U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips said the ban violates the First and Fifth Amendment rights of gays and lesbians. “Don’t ask, don’t tell” prohibits the military from asking about the sexual orientation of service members but requires discharge of those who acknowledge being gay or are discovered engaging in homosexual activity, even in the privacy of their own homes off base.

The US Dept. of Justice has the opportunity to appeal, but Obama has always had the power of the pen to end DADT. Will he keep the promise? Nevertheless, congress has support to make their decision that much more easier. This is truly a Restoring Honor moment.:-)

So, what’s the Right gonna say now? Between marriage equality and now DADT vanishing, what on God’s green earth could happen next? A Koran burning party?
